Hippo with a hat near Lake Urema at the heart of Gorongosa National Park. Gorongosa used to host one of the greatest concentrations of animals in the world.
Sadly, a civil year in the 80’s destroyed most of the animals.
Now the Gorongosa Restoration Project has committed itself to a 20 year plan to rehabilitate the park and managed to include the nearby Gorongosa Mountain, where the park gets its abundant water, as well.by Paul Dutton

Okay, so I know everyone is going to be super jealous when they read this post but… I have the best puppy dog in the world - BENJIDOG!
Well he is not really a puppy anymore. But he is most certainly the best.
Benjidog is a Cavilier King Charles Spaniel which basically translates as, he is a snob. He refuses to normal dog things. Like eat out of a dog bowl, sleep in a dog bed, go to dog places… the list goes on.
Instead he expects human food. However not just any old human food. Ben likes Marks and Spencers, or more specifically, Marks and Spencers meat section. If we give him anything else he will literally turn his nose up at it. One time we managed to fool him with Sainsburys chicken… that was a successful day.
He also prefers to be hand fed. Sometimes we try to make him jealous by pretending that his many toys are eating food out of his dog bowl, but he is clearly more intelligent than us mere humans and has yet to react whenever we do this. So to prevent our dog from starving we have resorted to hand feeding him while he lies on the couch.
Ben also refuses to show people any affection. Actually he refuses to show most people even slight interest. On some occassions, when Ben has agreed to come out a walk with me, people have seen Ben and have exclaimed about his beauty and how absolutely adorable he is, and when they have attempted to clap him Ben has literally walked right past them. I mean, right past.
Some unfortunate fools have also tried to offer Ben dog biscuits. On these occasions Ben has just looked downright disgusted.
However, even though he is a little odd I have completely fallen in love with my strange little doggy, and wish that it was more socially acceptable to behave like Ben sometimes.
This is Flynn (aka SNOWCAT!)
He has big massive fluffy paws and a tail like a snow leopard tail (if you know what I mean) hence the name SNOWCAT!
He had a difficult start in life but fortunately he was taken in by the kitty cat rescue centre I help out at and we developed a very special bond. As in I would give him lots of kisses and cuddles, talk and sing to him, make funny faces and do other nice things… and he would basically ignore me.
But I know he felt the same way I did.
Anyway, Flynn basically proved to me that love at first sight was true :)
I can make this face.
One day, when my flatmates and I probably should have been studying or doing something else productive, we decided instead to go to the aquarium :)
Whilst we were there, a ‘rock pool talk’ was on, so we decided to join in and I got to kiss a starfish!
I may have had to push small children out of the way to do so but shit happens.
This is what to expect form my blog. You can stop following me now if you want…
If you are interested this was one of the kittens I kissed at the cat and kitten rescue centre I volunteer at every week :)
CAT KISSES!
